Hello!

Cardiff Unitarians are a small and welcoming group of about eleven members, of various genders (male, female, gender-fluid) who vary in age from young adults to older adults. Many of us came from different religious backgrounds before having found our ‘home’ with the Unitarians, and our beliefs and spirituality are varied.

Whilst some of us look to Buddhism for spiritual sustenance and knowledge, others look to Christianity, whilst others lean towards Paganism, Islam, and Humanism. Many of us will seek inspiration, knowledge, and divinity within more than one area, and even look outside of religion to philosophy, creativity, and nature. This is often reflected in our services, which honour diversity and mirror our open-minded, inquisitive natures.

We meet every third Sunday of the month in a ‘hybrid service’, which provides the option to attend in-person or online. We currently do not have a minister and services are organised and run by members. These may either be ‘congregational’ services, where everyone is invited to share something relating to the theme of the month, or led by one person.

Our services often reflect our love of variety and different forms of connecting with spirituality; from creative activities, to readings, to chanting. We recognise our history by upholding the tradition of the lighting of our Chalice before each service. You can read about what the Chalice symbolises in the 'About Unitarians' section.

Many of us are passionate about supporting one another and the wider Unitarian community, and attend one another’s events (such as climate justice vigils, Heart & Soul group etc.) and also visit other congregations. Charity is also an important element to many of our lives, varying from dedicating time to the local United Nations Association, to providing voluntary pastoral care, to supporting animal welfare charities and beyond.

If you’re looking for an eclectic group to walk with you on your spiritual journey, why not join us at our next service? You will find us on the third Sunday of the month at The Quaker Meeting House:
